UH-Manoa students or those who work there have an attractive, and affordable, choice in Waialae Place, next door to their classes or office. Biking or even walking is a very viable option when you live here.
If, like so many, you work in Downtown, you're in luck there, too. The entrance to H1-West is just around the corner, making it a matter of seconds, not minutes, before you're merging into traffic. Getting onto the highway eastward takes a little longer, using the Kapiolani Blvd entrance, yet that only requires a 5 minute trip, maybe even less.
The floor plans within Waialae Place are simple, with 1 each for the Studio (386 sq ft), 1BR/1BA (445 sq ft) and 2BR/1BA (607 sq ft). There are only 5 Studios total across both buildings, so you'll almost certainly be looking at a 1 or 2BR that almost evenly divide the remaining 110.
Lanais vary in size, from 13 sq ft, which offer more the ability to open your interior to the outside rather than a space itself to use, to 103 sq ft, providing more of a traditional experience. The views from them and the windows of your home take in the city lights across Honolulu, the University and the Koolau Mountains rising toward the clouds.
Depending on your angle you can probably also see conveniences like Market City, where Foodland & Walgreen's are, along with some eateries that are huge local favorites. You can walk home after dinner and work off some of the calories. The restaurants that King St is famous for are also walkable as well as Puck's Alley, Down to Earth and Long's Moiliili. Kaimuki is up the road, too, another area famous for ono food and boutique shops, too.
In short, these are
