Don't be fooled by the name. This
Honolulu condo doesn't stand far up on the heights overlooking the city. It instead can be found looking up at its namesake not far from its base, more centrally located in the Makiki neighborhood.
Although not as fully removed as it would be from the development and faster pace of urban Honolulu if it were up Tantalus, you still get a certain separation from it living at Tantalus Vista. Partly from being on the mauka side of H1 and partly because this area has defied the condo tower proliferation that's spread across Honolulu, you have a more open environment to live in, uncrowded by skyscraping structures.
Inside there are 3 different layouts, one with 1BR/1BA (533 sq ft) and two of 2BR/1.5BA (786 or 866 sq ft). Lanais are all sized at 50 sq ft to walk out on and soak in the atmosphere of your neighborhood and the cool of the tropical evening.
From there you can see the city lights shining at night, as well as the Koolaus' greenery sloping upward, including the hillside of Tantalus, of course.
H1 runs 4 blocks or so makai from you, close enough for you to get on it in just a few minutes, but a distance that keeps its busy traffic's noise and activity reaching you when you're home. H1's eastward side can be entered only in a little farther distance, the on-ramp running right off of Piikoi St.
Commuters who prefer the bus can catch it at the stop at Wilder & Kewalo, not even a block from your home.
Safeway, Times & Walgreens are all a couple of minutes from you on Beretania St, so groceries and basic needs can be a quick run, even walked to if you're not buying too much.
Walk home and you'll remind yourself why you moved here, with so many advantages that come from living in the shadow of Tantalus' heights.
