Pawaa Gardens is in a part of Moiliili that must make up extreme west section of that neighborhood, just before it reaches Kalakaua Ave. The 2 buildings face each other directly, with a common parking lot between them.
These are classic Mid-Century walk-ups in the Hawaii style. Across the front of each are a line of palm trees protecting the units, underlining the Island feel even further with their swaying that greets you coming and going. The multi-row wood railings, geometric pattern of the street-side face of the structures and the complex's name in an era-evoking font complete the picture of this place.
The units are uniform across both buildings, not only in their 2BR/1BA layout to the 576 sq ft dimensions. The lanais do vary, in contrast, the upstairs homes having a very nice 100 or 120 sq ft to spread out on. Even those pale, though, in comparison to the 1st floor residents' 378 sq ft of patio and grass space that they have just outside their back doors.
Your 3 floors aren't towering, by any means, yet it isn't a disadvantage in surroundings that are almost all equally low-rise. Your views may not be expansive, but the skyline, and the sky itself is almost wide open to your gaze.
The trip to your Downtown office, and back, can be done in no time. H1 has an entrance that you could walk to in a few minutes up Punahou St. Beretania and King Streets are on either side of you, too, straight paths to Bishop or Alakea. Bus stops on both of those, and Punahou St, are as near as ½ block from Pawaa Gardens, supplying at least 6 different lines to use.
Your proximity to Kalakaua Ave means going into Waikiki is a matter of just getting onto that street, and taking it right into its shopping, dining and even beach options. You live on the street that becomes the main drag of this entire world-famous resort district.
From your vintage Honolulu condo building, you can take advantage of a beautiful setting that is almost an oasis in this urban, though not vertically developed, neighborhood and call it your own.
