If you're intrigued by the words 'tucked away' in a property description, the Nanihala should interest you. The two buildings that together make up this Honolulu condo are arrived at by heading down Green St until it basically dead ends at this complex. On the opposite side is an entrance/exit ramp connecting the lot to Pensacola St.
Otherwise you're surrounded by 2 other condos, some plantation style single family homes and the Hawaiian Mission Academy campus. This makes for a generally quieter environment, especially with the school's activity restricted to weekdays, ending by 3 or 4PM.
The exception here is the Barclay condo, a much taller structure than you, which covers your makai side. That does block views you would have in that direction, but you gain in the sun protection it provides from the intense afternoon rays and an equally desirable blocking of traffic noises coming from the highway. Overall you probably come out ahead.
Homes in the Nanihala come in 10 different floor plans, more than usual in this size of building. This gives you a variety of residences from Studio/1BA (348 to 361 sq ft), 1BR/1BA (471 or 516 sq ft) and 2BR/1BA (616 to 731 sq ft). The units do have lanais, outside of some of those on the 1st floor, which have 64 sq ft of patio space attached to them.
The outlet right onto Pensacola Ave is a special advantage for you. It gets you to the H1W entrance in under a minute while you can be entering H1E off Piikoi in about 3 minutes. Those are timings most Honolulu residents dream of having.
Pensacola can be taken as well to Beretania or King St where you have Longs, Walgreens, Petco, Safeway, Times and Foodland. Most daily errands can be taken care of at one of those.
Keep driving makai on Pensacola and you're taken straight into Kakaako's exciting new shopping, dining and pau hana entertainment, its list of new attractions growing almost every week it seems. Ala Moana Center is right there, too, easily multiplying those options across its huge expanse.
You may live in a more sedate bedroom community in Punchbowl, but you are still somehow immersed in all the urban assets and conveniences at the Nanihala. That's not a bad mix to have in your home.
