Keeaumoku Hale gives you the low-key, approachable living experience that comes from the mere 4 units that make up this dual level
condo in Honolulu's Makiki neighborhood. What is surprising is that the units all seem to have differences in their make-up.
It's easier to understand this if we lay it out individually:
Unit #1 (1st floor) - 1BR/1BA, 400 sq ft interior with 44 sq ft lanai
Unit #2 (1st floor) – 2BR/1BA, 483 sq ft, no lanai
Unit #3 (2nd floor) - 1BR/1BA, 450 sq ft interior with 50 sq ft lanai
Unit #4 (2nd floor) - 2BR/1BA, 528 sq ft interior, no lanai
Unless you live there, or know someone who does, you probably wouldn't even know this building exists. It sits on a property that's behind a single family home that fronts on Keeaumoku St, so you have to drive back behind to get to it. It's a nice buffer from the road traffic, though Keeaumoku is much less busy on this side of the highway.
As mentioned, all of the condos were renovated in 2008, including new floors, kitchens and bathrooms, updating them fully. Anyone expecting a vintage experience when they walk inside will be disappointed.
You may feel you're living in a throwback era, however, in your surroundings. On every side you're neighbors are all low-rise houses or walk-ups that are about the same height as your building. It's an open skyline around your home that feels freeing in contrast to the makai skyscraping development.
From the upstairs you can probably look over at Makiki District Park, where you'll find tennis & basketball courts, swimming pool and other activities to indulge in just across the street.
H1's entrance is reached in a couple of minutes from your address, with Times and Safeway equally close. As all locals know, Keeaumoku St on the other side of H1 has a number of tasty restaurants, but also features WalMart and runs straight into Ala Moana Center. You live on a a straight shot to some of the best shopping and dining in Honolulu.
From your intimate hideaway, this is all available to you. Amazing what you can find down those small streets in Honolulu.
