The Kapiolani Gardens' location is an intriguing mix of environments. It fronts of Kapiolani Boulevard, right at its intersection with University Ave, an area that is lined with a series of high-rises and development. Yet behind the building it's very different.
On that side the building stands over a neighboring collection of 2 story walkups and plantation style homes as well as the equally low-rise Iolani School. Beyond them to the east is something even less built-up, the
Ala Wai Golf Course. A contrast in vistas if there ever was one.
The condos that look out at these scenes are have 2BR/1BA, the floor plans totaling from 587 to 658 sq ft. While those are in the smaller sized side of
2BR Honolulu condos you'll find for sale, that isn't the end of the story.
You're well compensated on your lanai, where you'll have an additional space of at least 99 sq ft, possibly as much as 158 sq ft. Those are substantial spaces that make these residences stand out.
You'll take in often sweeping scenes of the city and its nighttime lights,
Waikiki, the Ala Wai Golf Course, our beloved Koolau Mountains and a vantage point on Diamond Head that can include almost its entire profile, front to back.
Your address at the Kapiolani/University corner means H1's westbound entrance is a couple of minutes mauka, just past Puck's Alley, Down to Earth and Long's. H1 East is even closer, just up Kapiolani, with Market City (Foodland, Walgreens) not even a block further. Kaimuki's restaurants and boutique shops are just a little further on as Kapiolani turns into Waialae.
Those who enjoy time outside will spend a lot of time in Ala Wai Park, using the walking paths for a stroll, taking the kids for some fun on the playground or just taking some time out to soak in the open, green surroundings.
Although the interiors aren't the largest, the large lanais, great views and location that gets you almost anywhere easily make the Kapiolani Gardens' inherent advantages huge in the size and the impact on your lifestyle. All of it to the good.
