About Hawaiiana Gardens The problem with so many of the charming old condos in Waikiki is that their charm wears off in daily life. The style is there, but the maintenance wasn't. The Hawaiiana Gardens has solved that problem.
This duo of 3 story walk-ups were built in 1950, but fully renovated top to bottom in 2012. In addition, the grounds were landscaped and filled with Native Hawaiian plants and flowers.
This renovation was done so well you'd almost believe these were recent 'retro' styled developments, rather than the real vintage deal. But they are.
All of the condos are 1BR/1BA with 445 sq ft interiors, with views of the park next door as well as the Ala Wai Canal.
One factor that contributes to the throwback feel is being on the western end of the Ala Wai. Traffic and noise both drop off noticeably when you come into this part of the neighborhood. It's sometimes difficult to realize that modern tourist-packed resorts are just a few blocks away.
The beach is an easy walk from here any time, making it simple to be at the ocean in a few minutes.
It's a common wish to turn back the clock and live in the Old Waikiki once again. At Hawaiiana Gardens, you come very close to it.
