The Hassinger holds down the Mauka-Diamond Head corner of the intersection made by Hassinger and Pensacola Streets. This is the Makiki border. Cross Pensacola to the other side and you'll be in Punchbowl once you step back onto the sidewalk.
This is a low-rise community, most of your neighbors being walk-ups with similar heights to you or the single family plantation homes that have been here for probably ½ a century or more. No high-rises blocking the skies or the vistas around you, whether you're home or out walking.
The units in the Hassinger all have a 2BR/1BA layout, almost evenly divided between 611 and 613 sq ft interiors. The cozier indoor dimensions of these
Honolulu condos do have a counterweight in the lanais that are larger than expected for them. Owners can look forward to finding 81 to 89 sq ft outside on those.
What you can also expect on the lanai is your washer/dryer, freeing up space you'd usually lose inside. Having a washer/dryer in your unit isn't common for smaller walk-up buildings, most using community laundry facilities. So this is a welcome and convenient feature.
Another welcome benefit you'll use often is how Pensacola St runs makai right to the Keeaumoku area, where WalMart/Sams Club & Ross are, and then the endless stores and food options of Ala Moana Center. If new and exciting are your style, this same drive can be followed right into Kakaako, where countless more choices have opened, with a lot more on the way. Ala Moana Beach Park is just beyond, where the waters are always calm and soothing.
Commuting and getting around Oahu is even easier. H1 West is entered just blocks away on Lunalilo St, H1 East's entrance is equally close by, on Piikoi St. Bus riders have their own stop, right on the other side of Pensacola from the Hassinger.
You'll be zooming around town in no time when you live here, while enjoying the lower-key and fully local feel of this neighborhood. A great place to hang your ukulele.
