About Ala Moana Hotel Condo The changing of the Ala Moana Hotel into a condotel in 2005 - named the Ala Moana Hotel Condo - was the largest conversion ever done in Hawaii. It attracted a huge crowd of interested buyers to the initial viewings and sales. Units went quickly and for a good price. No one saw the 2008 economic collapse coming over the horizon.
