About 1717 Ala Wai 1717 Ala Wai's location on that thoroughfare is a little different. It stands on the section below the intersection with Kalakaua Ave, keeping it on the serene side of this busy artery. The police, ambulance & fire sirens rarely find their way past that crossing and the traffic levels drop dramatically at that point as well.
Though it's not the actual ocean, there's much to love about the views of the Ala Wai Canal that most of the 1717 Ala Wai condo units have laid out before them. You can watch the outrigger teams paddling up and down the way, a touch of Hawaii that you'll always enjoy seeing. The grand architecture of the Hawaii Convention Center just across that same waterway also adds a certain stateliness to your vista. Things inside look good, too.
The building has a brand new fitness center and the common areas are currently being extensively remodeled. The improvements are intended to reflect the property's history as an upscale residence, so they are certain to be worth the time & labor once completed.
The condos in 1717 Ala Wai are also known for their roomy layouts, the 2BRs starting at over 1,000sq ft and the 3BRs beginning at more than 1200sq ft. Lanai sizes match this generosity at 8 feet deep, making for excellent space to relax or dine in the fresh tropical air.
When you need some time outside the home, it's an easy walk to the beach, dining & shopping in Waikiki or across the canal to Ala Moana Center where you'll find endless possibilities to spend a few hours. Once you're done, you'll make the quick trip back to what just might be Waikiki's best kept secret. With the renovations nearing completion and the attractive dimensions of these condos, though, it may not stay that way for long.
