The Molokai Shores are a beachfront property in
Kaunakakai, with residences that come within 35 yards of the ocean.
The community is made up of three residential buildings. Building A holds forty-eight units, ‘B’ has thirty-six units and ‘C’ has eighteen inside it.
These one and two bedroom condos have interiors spanning 563 to 805 Sq Ft with one lanai exterior. One bedrooms make up most of the residences, with 90 in all, the remaining twelve all being two bedrooms. All units on the third floor, both one and two bedrooms, have high sloped ceilings and a loft storage area of 218 Sq Ft.
Most of the properties are fee simple now, but a few leaseholds remain. The lease is up in 2038, with a scheduled renegotiation set for 2028.
Each unit has one unassigned, uncovered stall for their parking. Ceiling fans are standard throughout the living areas and bedrooms. Washer/Dryer is inside a few of the condos, many still relying on the on-site coin laundry room.
Castle Resorts runs the daily operations and hotel program for owners who want to opt-in to that. Their check-in and out is done off-site at a building in Kaunakakai.
Most residences have partial to almost completely unobstructed ocean views, a line of palm trees on the property’s end being the one issue.
Amenities & Things To Do With a beach sitting along the end of your home property, going down to see the waves come in can be a daily ritual here. The sand is softer the closer it is to the land side, due to some small rocks here and there as you descend toward the water, which is the case on much of this part of Molokai’s coastline.
If you want better conditions for swimming, one good choice nearby is
One Alii Park, two miles directly east. This park is known for calmer waters, attracting swimmers who appreciate the calmer conditions. It’s also a place to just wade around or get some sun on the beach.
More land-based recreation is available about 1 ¼ miles west of you at the
Mitchell Pauole Community Center. This county facility has a gymnasium, soccer field, baseball field, two tennis courts, skateboard park and a practically-Olympic size pool. Classes and organized sports activities are available, too, for both kids and adults.
