Lihue Neighborhood Center is here also, which is your local community center. Different classes, activities and smaller events are held here on a regular basis, the calendar always full.
Beach time is a benefit of living in the Islands, the closest option for you being a little over 2 miles east at
Hanamaulu Beach Park. The beach itself is ¼ mile long, giving you room to spread out on the sands. The waters are usually clear, becoming a little brackish especially after a rain storm due to the river that flows into this bay. Another factor is that the surf can be stronger in the summer months, but it is still a good place to swim or paddle board most of the year.
