Hookena at Puhi sits in the
Puhi area of Lihue, with undeveloped, greenery covered areas immediately south and east of its buildings.

Amenities & Things To Do The more rural surroundings of this inland area has its own pluses, but the beach isn’t too far away either. One of the best,
Kalapaki Beach, is only 3.5 miles southeast of you. A breakwall off this shore keeps the waves down so it's a favorite spot for swimmers and families with little ones. Kids can wade in here and play in safer conditions than many other places. The summer does bring higher, though not overwhelming, swells but year round this is where you can learn to surf or paddle board in a more forgiving environment.
Recreation closer to home is also available at
Puhi Park, 1 mile from your home. Its 3.4 acres holds a playground for the kids, two tennis courts, a basketball full-court and a baseball field. There’s also open green spaces to relax on or use for other activities, all in easy reach from where you live.
