Banyan Harbor sits near the coastline in Lihue’s Nawiliwili area, the residences within 270 yards of the ocean. Outside of the road, much of the space between the resort and the Pacific is open land that includes
Nawiliwili Park. On the north you sit against Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park and the east side is bordered by undeveloped land covered with thick greenery.
These one and two bedroom condos have interiors of 617 to 980 Sq Ft with one to three lanais exterior. There are only four one bedrooms, the remaining one hundred and forty four residences are all two bedrooms. Of those two bedrooms, ninety-six are two-story layouts, with both bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper floor.
Each unit has one assigned parking space. Buildings F to J have basement garages for their residents, with the rest of the buildings having uncovered stalls. Ceiling fans are throughout the living areas and bedrooms, with some owners installing window a/c units as well. Washer/Dryer is inside every condo. A solar pv system provides some of the power for common areas, reducing the utility bills for the community. All of the buildings are walk-ups, so there are no elevators in the complex.
Many of the residences have peekaboo to partial ocean views from them. Amenities & Things To Do You live across the street from Nawiliwili Park, which spans more than 6 oceanfront acres looking out at Kalapaki Bay. The shoreline here is rocky, but you still can enjoy the view of the water and the surfers riding the waves in front of you. There aren’t any athletic fields set up here, so while you can use it for active recreation, most use it as a place to sit back and spend time in the tropical outdoors.
That’s a contrast to
Kalapaki Beach, just down the way and only ¼ mile from your door. There are certainly places to relax there, especially on the sand that sits along the water, but getting in the ocean is almost required. That’s not difficult due to a breakwall that ensures calmer conditions so wading in or taking a swim is as easy as it gets here. Smaller waves also mean this is where you can try out surfing or paddle boarding without the constant fear of wipe outs. That’s as easy as it gets.
