The Sunset Kahili is an L-shaped building only one lot back from the ocean, but its property is elevated above its low-rise neighbor. The closest end of the structure is just 25 yards from the water. It was built before Kauai’s lower height limit was passed, making it the highest condominium building in this area.
Its one and two bedroom condos have interiors that measure from 655 to 1,028 Sq Ft with one lanai exterior. Please note that this is a Leasehold property, the lease ending in 2042. All units have at least one uncovered parking stall. Most have only ceiling fans inside, with a few that have installed a split a/c system. There is an elevator that serves the upper floors. Due to the higher perch, most of these residences have partial ocean views, the top floor often close to unobstructed.
Amenities & Things To Do The Sunset Kahili is in the area of Poipu that sits between two beaches. The closer one is
Brennecke’s Beach, ¼ mile to your west. The swells tend to be stronger here, so it's best for more skilled surfers and bodyboarders. This is still a good place to get on the sands and relax, even if the water is too rough.
Poipu Beach Park is just another ¼ mile past Brennecke’s, which is the main local beach. Here the Pacific is more welcoming, allowing you to swim, surf, snorkel and almost any other activity. There’s also a natural wading pool where the kids can safely play.
Shipwreck Beach is on your east, a little less than a mile, where the ocean tends to be tamer. Get in for a swim or there’s the surroundings to enjoy, including the cliffs where divers jump into the water at sunset.
Your building has a pool and sundeck right out front, too, ready when you want to take a dip or just kick back a little.
