Kahala’s location is very near the northwestern corner of Poipu Kai Resort, right next to the main recreation center of the resort, including the tennis courts and pool.
The one and two bedroom condos have interior spaces of 855 to 1,073 Sq Ft with one lanai exterior. Of the 82 units, only 20 are 2BR and those are all on the ground floor of the buildings. The remaining 62 are 1BR, though some of those on the top floors have an additional loft area.
All residences have one assigned, uncovered parking stall for their use. These condos primarily use ceiling fans inside to cool off. Many of the units have ocean views that range from peekaboo to horizon to excellent partial views.
Amenities & Things To Do This is the closest community to the Poipu Kai’s eight tennis courts, its main pool and spa, making it very easy to use those facilities. In addition, Kahala has its own pool as well, located on the opposite side of the complex from the resort’s, so there’s one nearer to you wherever you live.
The nearest beach is
Brennecke’s Beach, about ¼ mile southwest of you. Poipu Kai’s paved walking paths take you right there quickly & easily. This beach has a higher level of swells, so caution is needed if you’re not an experienced surfer or swimmer. It’s no problem for anyone, however, to lay back on the sands here, do a little wading, and take in the views out to the horizon.
Your other local beach is eastward less than 1 mile that, again, can all be done on a paved path.
Shipwreck Beach is a longer bed of sands than Brennecke’s and the ocean is much more welcoming for swimmers, snorkelers and surfers of different levels. At sunset you can join the onlookers at the eastern end cliffs and watch divers jump from there down to the ocean. It’s a good way to end the day with a little island-style excitement.
