Lanikai, home to Lanikai Beach – often voted as one of the best beaches in the US – is a residential neighborhood within the city of Kailua, like nowhere else on Oahu. The exclusive and luxurious Lanikai real estate is solely made up of single family homes and 1 townhouse complex – Bluestone. There are no high-rises, shops, restaurants or anything commercial in Lanikai – just a small group of incredibly charming houses and a beach to die for, attracting thousands of visitors on a weekly basis all year round.
I took a day in Lanikai, making a short video and taking pictures of some of the most memorable impressions, including 3 photos from Kailua Town area (since there are no shops in Lanikai and I needed a coffee break and a bite to eat). Here is the video:

Lanikai in Pictures
There is no dedicated public car parking in Lanikai and visitors have to look for available street parking. Here are 3 houses that caught my attention, as I was walking towards my car.
Got some water to drink from my car and then went for a hike up Lanikai Pillboxes. Here is a view from halfway up, overlooking houses in Lanikai and the beach.
At the base of the hike is the exclusive Mid Pacific Country Club with its popular golf course.
Burned some energy swimming in Lanikai and taking the hike up the Pillboxes. Ending the day in Kailua with an energy drink at Whole Foods Market followed by an afternoon meal at California Pizza Kitchen.
Time to head back to Honolulu before the late afternoon rush – Aloha!
