Aloha, this is Michelle Johnson with Honolulu HI 5 (company now called Hawaii Living). Today, we’re going to discuss the Kapolei area. What’s so great about living in Kapolei? Well, Kapolei has a lot of new development going on. It is the up and coming second city for Oahu in which you have your courthouses, satellite city hall, all of the government facilities that you would be able to get in the downtown area without having to make the half an hour drive. Kapolei real estate is growing and growing. We have everything in Kapolei from condos to single-family homes ranging from 700 square feet to over 2000 square feet.
We also have a new development in the Mehana development in which you can work and live in the same unit. It is zoned to have your own business in the unit, such as a salon or small boutique or even a professional type of real estate company maybe or service, and you can also live in the unit. The Kapolei area is also known for the new U.H. West Oahu that was recently built there, and the rail system will have its main hub for the new light rail system in Kapolei.
The other benefits of Kapolei are its highly rated schools, elementary, middle, and high schools, and the entire, all three schools are located on the same street. Very convenient for families. If you’re interested in finding a location that is still 30 minutes away from town, but away from the hustle and bustle, then Kapolei is the place for you.
The other advantage of the living or purchasing in Kapolei is there is a strong presence of rental properties that can be purchased for the investor and single-family homes, townhouses, and homes, or you can even purchase to live. Kapolei has the new mall coming to that area as well as short drive to the Target shopping center in which there are many new restaurants and stores in which you can enjoy and not have to drive all the way into Honolulu.
The Kapolei area is very well-priced. You can purchase a townhouse or a condo in the 200,000 range all the way up to single-family home, which is in the $800,000 to $900,000 range. You can go and be at the beautiful lagoons in Ko Olina to enjoy a nice time at the beach, the amenities of Ko Olina, the restaurants within just a short 10-minute drive.
