Ever decided not to go to a market because it was too hot or too rainy? Problem solved. The Windward Mall Farmers Market takes the booths indoors, so you’re out of the elements and in the wonderfully cool AC. The booths are out in the area in front of Macy’s, but on both levels so after you finish one, there’s another one above or below to see. This is easily a larger entry of the Oahu markets, giving you much to look over. In addition to the produce and fruit, you’ll be amazed at the incredible range of foods you can get here including, just for starters, fried tako, sweet corn, papaya salad, fresh poi and even coconut salt water taffy. Plus very high quality, local olive oils, coffees and herbs, too. There is skepticism about whether some of the produce here is grown locally, but all love the tasty offerings and the comfortable setting. Maybe not as authentic, but still a good time in the largest mall on the Windward Side. Parking is easy here and, rain or shine, it’s on. This is another stop that allows you to do more shopping in the regular stores after you get your time in at the market. 2 birds, one stone!
