The Saturday version is easily the biggest Farmer’s Market in Honolulu, hands down. It’s become so well-known that you’ll see lines of buses dropping off large groups of tourists from Waikiki seeking out a little local life. It isn’t just produce here, but a lot of food booths, craft vendors, plant sellers and just about everything else as well. It’s sure to upset market purists but it’s a great way to spend some time outdoors and take in a wide variety of products and services. One persistent complaint is that parking gets tough, so either get there early or take either TheBus or Waikiki Trolley, both of which let you off right at the site. The setting is right against the back of Diamond Head, so getting to see this lesser known side of an icon is a bonus. You’re also actually across the street from the entrance into Diamond Head so you can take your snacks and get in a hike while you’re there. The Tuesday event is smaller, but still well attended and a lot of good food and produce to be found. Less vendors, but less crowds as well, which might make it more attractive for some.
