Famously, boogie boarding was first invented on this beach, so bring your board and head out. The bed is rocky in places, so swimming is discouraged unless you know these waters well.
To your north, just about a mile is
Kamakahonu Beach, its waters always calm due to being inside a protective cove. This makes it popular for swimmers or those who just want to wade in and cool off. Past the cove entrance there’s snorkeling spots well worth checking out as well. Right along the beach’s east side is the
Kailua Pier, where many local festivals and events are held throughout the year. It’s also where many like to come to watch the sunset in the evening.
Just outside your front door is your community’s pool, always seconds away for a quick plunge.
