Kona Bali Kai is an oceanfront property, but made up of seven buildings. Buildings 1 & 2 (the lobby structure) are on the shoreline side of Alii Drive, while the other five buildings are just across the street on the mountain side. Building 1 holds 75 of the condos, the remaining 79 distributed in the remaining five residential structures.
The studio to three bedroom units have interiors measuring from 417 – 1,638 Sq Ft. Parking for the oceanfront building is a mix of at least one covered or uncovered assigned space, while the mountain side residents have one or more unassigned stalls. There is no central a/c in the community, so you’ll find some with only ceiling fans, others with window units or a split a/c system installed.
There is an elevator in the ocean side building, but the others are all walk-ups. All of the Building 1 residences have completely unobstructed ocean views. Many units in buildings 3 & 6 also have a view of the Pacific, but partially obstructed.
Castle Resorts runs the front desk and handles rentals for owners that opt into the hotel program.
Amenities & Things To Do Pahoehoe Beach Park is close by at less than a mile southward, where its grass lawn area provides a place to look out at the Pacific while picnicking. The rocky shoreline here makes water activities harder to do, but the scenery is beautiful and it’s rarely crowded.
If you do need to get into the water,
Magic Sands Beach is almost next door. It’s a multi-purpose beach, appropriate for body boarding, swimming or surfing. The sand levels ebb and flow with the tide cycles, but there’s always a way into the waves. You can also head north from your home and be on
Honl’s Beach in about 1 ½ miles. This is the spot where boogie boarding was invented and the swells are still right for it. Though the beach isn’t huge, there’s all the sand you need to lay back and watch the surf.
Kona Bali Kai’s pool and hot tub are in even easier reach, with a deck and lounge chairs to enjoy and from there you can even hear the waves.
