Amenities & Things To Do Less than a mile northwest of your home is
Kamakahonu Beach, a part of the coastline that has conditions made for swimming and wading in due to its protected location. Part of that protection is from an offshore reef that is near enough to swim out to easily. There you’ll find a wonderful snorkeling spot, where you can watch sea turtles, tropical fish and a variety of ocean life right in front of you.
Kailua Pier is also beside the beach, a site of many local events as well as a favorite place to watch the sunset.
An even closer recreation option is
Hale Halawai Park, which is, at most, 1/5 mile directly west of your building. An oceanside green space, it has excellent views out on the bay as well as a large pavilion used for different events and performances on a regular basis. You can get down to the coastline from the park as well, but bring water shoes since it is rocky there. The vantage point on the waves is excellent and there are also tidepools to check out without having to go very far.
