Swimming in it is one of those Only-In-Hawaii adventures and it’s just up the road. For the beach experience, you only have to go 1 ¼ miles from your home in the same northward direction.
You’ll arrive at
Honl’s Beach, where, as boogie boarders from all over know, their sport was invented. The bodyboarding is good on these waves, as you can imagine, but when they get going it’s not a good idea to do any swimming here. Even with its historic status, the sands are often uncrowded, making it fairly simple to get a spot on the shore to yourself and just enjoy a day by the ocean.
