The gated community of the Residences of Laulea is located within the
Mauna Lani Resort and has
South Course fairways along three sides and, across S Kaniku Dr, has more on most of its fourth. The seventeen homes’ interior space ranges from 2,097 to 2,941 Sq Ft and exterior space on 2 to 3 lanais.
The floor plans can be generally divided into two groups:
Townhomes These make up 11 of the residences, grouped in 4 duplexes and 1 triplex. They have three or four bedrooms on two stories. Two lanais are upstairs off of the bedrooms there and one lanai off the living area, facing onto the golf course.
Standalone Homes There are only 6 of these single-level residences, all with four bedrooms. The fourth bedroom is a guest quarters, separate from the main home, in a structure attached to the garage. It has its own bathroom and a small lanai. The main home has a lanai off of the living area looking out on the golf course.
All Laulea residences have their own private pool and spa on the main lanai. Many of these have ocean views. Central air conditioning is in every home and a garage for parking.
Amenities & Things To Do Ownership makes you a Mauna Lani Advantage Club member, allowing you access to the
golf courses, the
Mauna Lani Beach Club and the Sports & Fitness Center.
The Beach Club, just ½ mile away, includes a restaurant, beach services, private cabanas and other amenities. Mauna Lani’s Sports & Fitness Center offers a full range of activities with its tennis courts, saunas, fitness center with trainers & staff, and lap pool, plus even more.
The larger sands of
Pauoa Beach are further away, about 1 ½ miles, but the resort's free shuttle service can take you to it. The swimming is easier here due to the more sedate waters, so it’s good for the kids here as well.
Running just behind your neighborhood is the
King’s Trail, an ancient Hawaiian aristocracy used to travel to survey their lands and to perform ceremonies in different areas they ruled. The trail is part of the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail, a 175 mile trek that once linked the southern tip of the Big Island with its northern limit. It is rocky, but takes you through volcanic scenery and panoramic views that are rewarding.
