The Collection Honolulu was the second
condo project completed, as part of the
Our Kakaako master-plan, and developed by prominent local developer,
Alexander & Baldwin. The first project completed was
400 Keawe.
The project is made up of 3 distinctively different structures: - The Tower - 43 Story Tower with a regular floor plate having 10 units - 2 x 1 bedroom, 6 x 2 bedroom, 2 x 2 bedroom. Please go to the Floor Plans tab to see details the units. The tower has their own amenities, as listed in the beginning of this writeup under the "Profile" section. The amenities are beautiful, has a very inviting feel, although it is on the small side.
- The Lofts - 4 Story Structure, which has predominantly studios with a few 2 bedroom units. The lofts has their own amenities: Gym, club room with kitchen, pool table, community laundry (for large laundry - units have own washer / dryer), bike storage and surfboard storage.
- The Townhomes - 14 townhomes, each has 4 floors with a private roof top and a private garage - very unique and rare for Kakaako. The townhomes do not have access to the Tower of Lofts amenities and do not have any amenities.
Ala Moana Blvd, where The Collection was built, is referred to as 'Front Row' in Kakaako and most other newer condos on Front Row are at a much higher price point than The Collection, such as
Waiea,
Alia,
Victoria Place and
Kalae. Ocean views tend to be superior from Front Row, hence it encourages developers to built the finest projects along this stretch. Many units at The Collection also boast stunning ocean views.
Next door to The Collection is
Salt at Our Kakaako, which is a very popular open air mini-mall with several popular casual eateries and coffee shops, projecting a really nice vibe and ambiance. With more
